Russian Railways stated that the driver drove onto the tracks “while the signal was functioning correctly and the train was approaching.” The Telegram channel Mash wrote that, according to preliminary information, the driver did not see the train because trees were blocking his view.

Train traffic has been suspended on the section of tracks where the collision occurred.
