At least 12 people were killed and 35 were injured in a shooting at Crocus City Hall, a music venue in the Moscow region, reports the Telegram channel Baza. The Telegram channel 112 wrote that at least 10 people were killed. According to RIA Novosti, at least three people in camouflage opened fire at the venue. A source told the Telegram channel Shot that there were five armed attackers.
An RIA correspondent at the scene said the attackers threw a grenade or an incendiary device which started a fire at the venue. According to Baza, up to100 people may be trapped in the building.
Some people may have taken refuge in the basement, while others might be trapped on the fourth floor, cut off by the fire.
On March 7, the U.S. Embassy in Russia issued a warning about possible terrorist attacks in Moscow over the following 48 hours.
