A woman lost part of her arm on Sunday after lighting a large firecracker in the bathroom of a polling station in the Russian city of Perm, the Telegram channel Baza reported, citing preliminary information.
Regional authorities confirmed that there was an explosion at the site and that a woman suffered an arm injury. They said she’s currently receiving medical care and that there were no other victims.
Baza reported that a 64-year-old woman named Yelena S. was seen talking on the phone before the explosion and speculated that she may have been tricked into detonating the firecracker by scammers.
