According to Russia’s Defense Ministry, air defense systems shot down seven rockets over the region. Less than 15 minutes later, the alert was canceled and voting in Russia’s presidential election resumed.

Belgorod Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov wrote that two people in the city were injured in the attack and 23 apartments in seven buildings were damaged. He added that a school stadium was hit. In the wider region, one apartment building, five houses, two shopping centers, and eight cars were damaged, according to the governor.

Russia’s presidential election is being held over a three-day period: from March 15–17.
