Local authorities have declared a state of emergency in Russia’s Novosibirsk due to heating supply issues, reports Governor Andrey Travnikov.

In the early hours of January 19, a third pipeline burst in the city, leaving 69 buildings without heating and hot water.

Novosibirsk’s state of emergency has been categorized at the regional response level, enabling authorities to mobilize resources and support from the entire region. According to Interfax, repairs are still ongoing for two other sections of the heating network.

This marks the third significant accident in Novosibirsk’s heating systems in recent days. On January 11, a technical failure within the central heating system left at least 124 residential buildings and 10 public facilities without heating and hot water. On January 17, a pipe carrying boiling water burst, leaving 70 homes, a hospital, and an ambulance station without heating.
