Russia’s Defense Ministry said that air defenses intercepted four Ukrainian aircraft-launched missiles in annexed Crimea overnight on January 6.

According to the ministry, the missiles were destroyed at around 12:30 a.m. local time. Earlier on January 5, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that it destroyed five Ukrainian drones in the western part of the Black Sea.

Telegram channel Crimean Wind cited eyewitness reports that nearly a dozen explosions were heard overnight near the city of Yevpatoria in annexed Crimea. Blasts were also heard in the Saky district, where the Saky air base is located. Vehicle traffic along the Crimean bridge was halted for about an hour.

On the morning of January 6, Ukrainian Air Force Commander Mykola Oleshchuk said that Ukrainian troops struck a Russian command post at the Saky air base.

News outlet Astra writes that at least one soldier was injured and another was stuck under rubble following the Ukrainian attack.
