Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova has said that on the evening of October 26, a Ukrainian drone loaded with explosives crashed into the nuclear waste storage facility at the Kursk Nuclear Power Plant.
According to her, the drone damaged the walls of the storage facility. Zakharova also said that two more drones fell on the station’s administrative complex. She added that the drones used for the attack included “components supplied by Western countries.”
“What happened proves that there are no limits for the criminal Kyiv regime, including committing acts of nuclear terrorism. They could not have been unaware that the drone attack could result in a full-scale nuclear disaster that would affect the territories of many countries. There were no other objectives when attacking the nuclear power station — a purely peaceful infrastructure object,” Zakharova said.
On the evening of October 26, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that three Ukrainian drones were intercepted by air defense forces over Russia’s Kursk region near the Kursk Nuclear Power Plant. The ministry did not report any damage to the station. On October 27, the Telegram channel Baza reported an attack on the Kursk Nuclear Power Plant, stating that one of the drones, loaded with explosives, had detonated.
