The first two cargo ships to use a temporary Black Sea corridor to load grain arrived in the Port of Chornomorsk in Ukraine’s Odesa region, reports Interfax Ukraine, citing the maritime analytics provider MarineTraffic.

The agency wrote that the Turkish cargo ship Aroyat sailing under the flag of Palau entered the territory of the Chornomorsk port at around 6:00 p.m. local time on September 16. The cargo ship Resilient Africa sailing under the flag of Palau arrived at the port at around 10:00 p.m. local time.

Ukraine’s Infrastructure Minister Oleksandr Kubrakov said that the vessels arrived at the port to load nearly 20,000 tons of wheat destined for countries in Asia and Africa.
