The European Parliament has passed a resolution condemning the regime of Belarusian leader Alexander Lukashenko for its “involvement in Russia’s unjustified, illegal and unprovoked war of aggression against Ukraine.”
The document accuses the Belarusian authorities of “promoting hate speech, disinformation and propaganda echoing Moscow’s bellicose rhetoric,” as well as providing ammunition and military equipment to Russia and training Russian troops and Wagner Group forces in Belarus.
The resolution also says Lukashenko is “as responsible for” the forced deportations of children from Ukraine’s occupied territories to Russia as Vladimir Putin and Russian Children's Rights Commissioner Maria Lvova-Belova, and calls on the International Criminal Court to consider issuing an international warrant for Lukashenko’s arrest.
