Russia carried out a massive drone strike on Kyiv on the night of September 10. Air defense systems downed 26 out of the 33 Shahed kamikaze drones launched towards the Ukrainian capital, as reported by Ukrainian Air Force command.
According to Serhiy Popko, head of the wartime administration of Kyiv, Russian drones targeted the city in groups flying from different directions. Remnants of disabled drones crashed in several urban districts.
In the Shevchenko district, one of the units in a high-rise apartment building was damaged. Multiple vehicles, power lines, and road surfaces around the city were also wrecked. According to Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko, one person was injured in the Podilskyi District of the capital.
The head of the region’s military administration Ruslan Kravchenko said that one of the infrastructure facilities in the strike area was also damaged.
In addition, the blast wave blew out the doors and windows in eight private homes in the area.
In one of the affected communities, school and daycare buildings, the village council, and a rehabilitation center building were damaged, but no one was injured.
