Helicopter crash in Altai kills six

TASS reports, citing the region’s emergency services, that six people have been killed and seven others injured in the crash of an Mi-8 helicopter in the Altai Republic.

RIA Novosti writes that the helicopter caught fire upon landing in the Tyungur settlement of the Ust-Koksinsky district.

The crash was caused when the helicopter became caught in electrical wires.

The helicopter belonged to Altai Aviation and was carrying a group of tourists.

Footage showing the aftermath of the Mi-8 crash has been published by various media outlets.
