A drone attack launched by Ukraine on the Krasnohvardiiske region of annexed Crimea caused an ammunition depot to detonate, reports Sergey Aksyonov, the Russian-appointed head of annexed Crimea.
“According to preliminary information, no damage or injuries were reported. The decision was made to evacuate residents living within a five-kilometer radius of the incident to temporary accommodations. To minimize risks, a decision was made to halt railway traffic,” wrote Aksyonov.
Earlier, videos appeared on Russian and Ukrainian Telegram channels, which appeared to show the aftermath of the attack. The channels wrote that drones attacked an airfield and a fuel depot next to the village of Oktyabrskoye near Simferopol. Ukrainian media also wrote that an ammunition depot was hit.
Later, the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ directorate of strategic communications confirmed the attacks on annexed Crimea. The directorate wrote, “Ukrainian defense forces destroyed a Russian fuel depot and a warehouse in temporarily occupied Oktyabrskoye.”
