Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov says that that all relevant services and agencies are ready for possible new attacks after the explosion on the Crimean bridge.

Of course, all relevant services, agencies, everyone is working. We’re aware of how insidious the Kyiv regime is. Today, the Kyiv regime killed a young family, a girl’s parents, while the girl was injured on the Crimean bridge, and it must be talked about it, so that everyone knows about it, that all this is the work of the Kyiv regime. And we will all work and stay focused in order to prevent such tragedies from happening again.

According to Peskov, the response “will be to achieve all the goals of the special military operation, which will continue.”

Peskov added that Russian President Vladimir Putin would hold a meeting on the situation on the Crimean bridge on the evening of July 17, during which he would hear a report from Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin on the state of the work to restore the bridge.

The Kremlin spokesperson also said that Russia was constantly taking additional security measures. “We know the reasons and those behind this terrorist act. It will require further focus from us all, as well as additional measures and additional work,” he said.

After the explosion, Deputy Chair of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev said that “terrorists … understand only the language of force, only personal and quite inhumane methods.” Medvedev called for blowing up the homes of “terrorists,” as well as “the homes of their relatives”.
