In Odesa, a Russian missile strike destroyed a Red Cross of Ukraine warehouse, the humanitarian organization reports.

The missile strike caused a fire which “completely destroyed the humanitarian aid that was in the warehouse,” says a statement from the organization.

A Red Cross press release adds that the organization will now halt humanitarian aid in the Odesa region and suspend work on several other projects.

Reports emerged earlier today that a Kh-22 missile struck a warehouse located near Odesa, killing the security guard and injuring three other people. Ukrainian publication Strana reported that the missile hit a local food supplier’s warehouse.

Vladimir Rogov, representative of the Russian-appointed authorities in the annexed Zaporizhzhia region, claimed that the missile attack struck warehouses belonging to Ukraine’s Armed Forces. Russia’s Defense Ministry did not mention the Odesa strike in its latest briefing.

Russia launched a large missile and drone attack on Ukraine, targeting Kyiv among other cities, overnight on May 8.
