Ukraine’s Interior Ministry reported that the total number of people injured in the city of Uman, in the Cherkasy region, was 17 as of 8:55 local time. Cherkasy Governor Ihor Taburets later reported that at least 10 people were killed by Russia’s attack on the city.

Update: At 4:45 p.m. local time, the Ukrainian Interior Ministry reported that at least 20 people were killed and 18 were injured by Russia's attack on Uman.

All of the missiles launched at Kyiv and the Kyiv region were shot down by Ukrainian air defenses, though debris from one of the missiles landed on a residential building in the city of Ukrainka, sparking a fire. One child in the building was injured, according to Kyiv Governor Ruslan Kravchenko.

Commenting on the missile strikes, Volodymyr Zelensky promised Ukraine “will not forget a single crime.” “The Russian terror must get a just answer from Ukraine and the world… Every such attack and every evil act committed against our country and people is getting the terrorist state closer to collapse and punishment,” he said.

In its daily briefing, Russia’s Defense Ministry claimed having carried out a “targeted strike with high-precision long-range weapons,” on “points of enemy reserves deployment.” “The goal of the strike has been achieved,” the ministry reports.
