A Moscow court has arrested former police major Ivan Rybin on charges of violating privacy and abusing his authority. According to the Russian newspaper Kommersant, Russian law enforcement have linked his case to the murder of Daria Dugina, the daughter of Eurasianist philosopher Alexander Dugin.
According to investigators, Rybin searched Dugina in the Interior Ministry’s database before sending information about her on to a third party. Kommersant reported that Dugina’s name appeared in Rybin’s case files “literally a few times,” but didn’t indicate the context. The paper also noted that Rybin has not been charged with acting as an accessory to the murder.
