Georgia’s parliament voted in the second reading to reject the bill on “foreign agents” that sparked mass protests in the country’s capital earlier this week, the TV station Rustavi-2 reported on Friday.

Yesterday, the ruling Georgian Dream party decided to recall the two “foreign agents” bills that were previously under consideration. For legislative reasons, lawmakers were required to hold a second reading vote on one of the bills.

According to Rustavi-2, only one deputy voted in favor of the draft law. 35 voted against it, and the other 76 who were present abstained.
