After Putin’s patriotic rally, Moscow’s Luzhniki Stadium no longer suitable for soccer

The Russian Premier League (RPL) has announced that the March 11 Torpedo–Ural match, scheduled to take place at the Moscow Luzhniki Stadium as part of the Russian soccer championship, is being moved to the suburban Arena Khimki.
Earlier, a joint inspection by the Russian Football Union and the RPL deemed the Luzhniki soccer lawn unsuitable for hosting a game.
The management of Luzhniki has declined to comment on the reasons for moving the match.
According to the Russian outlet Sports.ru, the soccer lawn at Luzhniki was probably damaged during the February 22 patriotic rally, when a stage and other large installations were mounted on the soccer field.
