Russian army triples number of frontline attacks, says Ukrainian chief of command
The Russian army has increased combat intensity on segments of the Ukrainian front, said the Ukrainian Commander-in-Chief Valerii Zaluzhnyi, when speaking on the phone with Christopher Cavoli, commander of NATO Allied Command Operations.
“We discussed the frontline situation. It’s tense but remains under control,” Zaluzhnyi wrote on his Telegram channel, adding:
The enemy has tripled the intensity of combat on isolated segments of the frontline — with up to 80 daily attacks. Thanks to our warriors’ courage and skill, we’re holding our ground.
The AFU General Staff reports that the Russian army concentrates its offensives on the Bakhmut, Avdiivka, and Novopavlivka directions. Over the past 24 hours, the Ukrainian forces managed to deflect attacks in the Donetsk region near Verkhnokamyanske, Spornoye, Maryinka, Novomykhailivka, Vodyane и Pavlivka. The Russian army is firing at the Ukrainian formations along the contact line, also conducting air reconnaissance and continuing to shell the infrastructure.
Over the past day, the Russian forces have dealt four missile and 28 air strikes, as well as more than 45 attacks from rocket launchers. More than 30 locales in Zaporizhzhia, Dnipro, Donetsk, Kherson, and other areas have suffered from the Russian fire.
