Moscow City Hall: Up to 10 more hospital buildings may be designated for coronavirus patients
The city of Moscow is prepared to allocate 10 more hospital buildings for the treatment of coronavirus infections, Mayor Sergey Sobyanin announced on Monday during the opening for a COVID-19 wing in City Hospital No. 67.
According to Sobyanin, seven Moscow hospitals currently have buildings set aside for patients diagnosed with the novel coronavirus and patients who are under observation due to suspected exposure. The mayor also reminded reporters that a new infectious disease center is under construction in the New Moscow area.
As of March 23, 262 coronavirus cases had been confirmed in Moscow; 71 of them had been reported in the previous 24 hours. The city’s COVID-19 headquarters also announced that a second positive test for the viral infection will no longer be required to provide a COVID-19 diagnosis.
