On March 21, Russian health officials announced that they recorded 53 new cases of coronavirus in the previous 24 hours, bringing the country's number of confirmed COVID-19 infections to 306.
The cases are spread across 18 different regions of the country, though almost half of new cases (24) were reported in Moscow and the Moscow region.
Russian officials say 16 patients have already fully recovered from the illness.
A day earlier, on March 20, Russia recorded 54 new cases of coronavirus. In total, at least a dozen individuals in Russia have been released following treatment for COVID-19.
Russia’s first reported fatality in the coronavirus pandemic was reported on March 19 in Moscow.
