Anna Popova, who leads the Russian federal consumer welfare monitor Rospotrebnadzor, told TASS on February 26 that three Russian citizens evacuated from the Diamond Princess to Kazan have been diagnosed with coronavirus infections. The cruise ship is among the largest outbreak sites in the world outside of mainland China.
Eight Russian citizens in total were evacuated from the ship to Kazan on February 23. Deputy Prime Minister Tatiana Golikova said three of them had mild infections. On February 25, seven more Russian passengers were evacuated to Vladivostok. There were 24 Russian citizens aboard the Diamond Princess in total; some remained on board, while some had already left the vessel when the evacuations took place.
