Since August 6, Ukraine has been conducting an operation in Russia’s Kursk region. On the evening of August 13, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that “hundreds of Russian soldiers” had already surrendered and said Kyiv plans to exchange them for Ukrainian soldiers and civilians held by Russia. Zelensky added that all captured Russians “will be treated humanely.”
