The mound of flowers on Navalny’s grave has grown as tall as a person

Source: Meduza

By Sunday evening, so many flowers had been brought to Alexey Navalny’s grave at Moscow’s Borisovskoye Cemetery that they completely covered the wooden cross set up over it (these crosses typically stand at around 1.7 meters, or about 5.6 feet). Mourners came throughout the entire day to lay flowers at his grave, with the line of people waiting to pay their respects often stretching for several hundred meters. Cemetery security demanded that people leave as soon as they had placed their flowers. At 5:00 p.m. Moscow time, the cemetery closed, but not everyone dispersed. According to Dozhd (TV Rain), dozens of people stayed at the entrance, demanding to be let inside. They chanted “Navalny” and threw flowers over the fence.
