Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary for Russian President Vladimir Putin, told journalists on March 23 that new shelter-in-place regulations for seniors will not apply to the president. Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin issued an order recommending that city residents over 65 remain indoors in nearly all cases and avoid crowded public areas. Putin is 67. Sobyanin’s order includes an exception for supervisors and employees whose presence on the job is “vitally important” for commercial or government functions.
