Soviet-style posters call on Moscow construction workers to hurry up with that new coronavirus hospital

Source: Meduza

On March 12, Moscow city officials announced that a new hospital for COVID-19 patients would be built in a fast-moving construction project on the southern edge of the New Moscow area. The hospital, located near the village of Golokhvastovo, will occupy 43 hectares (106.3 acres) and house between 500 and 600 patients. Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin has promised that the new facility will be completed by mid-April. On March 21, journalists visiting the site noticed that it has been decorated with posters calling on workers to speed up the project. One poster features a portrait of Sobyanin pointing at the viewer and framed by the words “Construction workers! Every minute counts!” Others feature similar calls to action alongside images of a bulldozer burying coronaviruses and people wearing surgical masks (“Construction worker! We need this center!”).
