Financial Times: Ukraine reports first clashes with North Korean troops in Russia’s Kursk region

Ukrainian forces have fired at North Korean troops in Russia’s Kursk region, marking the first time soldiers from the two countries have engaged in combat, The Financial Times reported on Tuesday, citing a Ukrainian intelligence official.

The first report of the encounter came on Monday from Andriy Kovalenko, the head of Ukraine’s Center for Countering Disinformation, who said that North Korean soldiers “have already come under fire” in the Kursk region.
