Ten people in Ukraine were killed and at least 23 were injured by the winter storm that swept across much of the country on Sunday and Monday, Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko has reported.
In the Odesa region, five people were killed and 15 were injured, according to Klymenko. Ukraine's State Emergency Service responded to 254 calls in the region related to the weather, and the authorities there towed 849 vehicles.
Two people were killed and two injured in the Mykolaiv region, the minister said. Rescue workers there responded to 66 emergency calls, and 144 vehicles had to be towed.
Additionally, three people were killed and six were injured in the Kharkiv region and in Kyiv, according to Klymenko.
