Police in Russia’s Far East have arrested a man on suspicion of “justifying terrorism” for posting approving comments about another local man who was sentenced in March to seven years in prison for attempting to burn down a military recruitment office in Vladivostok. Andrey Volkov now faces seven years in prison himself for the felony offense of referring to the arsonist as a “hero” in a post on Vkontakte.

In a video shared on Telegram showing Volkov in police custody, he “fully repents” for his actions and urges others not to endorse attacks on enlistment offices.
