The Russian Justice Ministry has added The Moscow Times to its registry of “foreign agents,” along with a range of other organizations and people.
Other new additions to the list include political scientist Alexander Morozov, journalist Ilya Ber, human rights activist Grigory Sverdlin, actress Yana Troyanova, and the VPN company HideMy.name.
“Foreign agents” in Russia are subject to a strict set of requirements, including the inclusion of a lengthy disclaimer on any media they publish, and can face prosecution for failing to comply.
