Russian propagandist Vladimir Solovyov apologized to Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova for comments made by Middle East pundit Yevgeny Satanovsky, and promised to fire him.
The day before, a video appeared on Telegram, which showed Yevgeny Satanovsky saying that Maria Zakharova “does not particularly like Jews, and cannot tolerate Israel.” He also called her a “heavy drinker.”
Independent media outlet TV Rain notes that Satanovsky also spoke out about Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov, who said he “was already drinking like there’s no tomorrow when he was an ambassador back in Cairo.”
“He [Bogdanov] wants nothing bad with regard to Israel, but he is 71 years old. He needs to think about the future, Israel doesn’t pay money. Money circulates in the Islamic world,” Satanovsky said.
According to Solovyov, Satanovsky made the comments while speaking with Israeli journalists on his own YouTube channel.
