A Russian rocket attack has, by the latest count, killed two people and injured 20 in Sumy, in northeastern Ukraine, the city council reports. Three people have been hospitalized with moderate injuries.

In the evening of July 29, Russian troops fired a rocket attack on a four-story building housing an educational institution, says Ukraine’s Internal Affairs Ministry. The impact shattered windows in neighboring buildings. Publication Strana says that the strike hit a vocational school. According to the city authorities, classroom buildings and two dormitories were damaged or destroyed.

Ukraine’s State Emergency Services report that the rocket strike started a fire, which engulfed most of a building. It put out around 3:00 a.m. on July 30.
The Sumy authorities say that 13 people were relocated to temporary shelters.
