On the night of July 19, Russian troops launched missile and drone strikes on Ukraine, causing air raid sirens to go off. The Ukrainian Independent Information Agency reported explosions in Odesa and that air defense systems were activated in Kyiv.
In Kherson, an 89-year-old woman was injured. The attack also damaged a two-story residential building and caused a fire in Kherson’s Palace of Culture, according to the Ukrainian Independent Information Agency, referencing Oleksandr Prokudin, head of the Kherson region’s military administration.
Zhytomyr regional authorities reported that a drone damaged an infrastructure facility and several private residences. The Dnipropetrovsk regional administration said that there were no injuries and no buildings were destroyed in the attack.
Several buildings in Odesa were damaged in the attack.
All drones aimed at Kyiv were shot down, according to the city’s military administration.
The General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces said that Russian forces launched six Kalibr cruise missiles and 35 Shahed drones. All of the missiles, and all but four drones were destroyed, according to the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ General Staff.
