Russia’s Investigative Committee has opened a criminal case under six articles in the Russian Criminal Code in connection with the incursion of Ukrainian “saboteurs” into the Belgorod region on Monday.
The articles include terrorism, infringing on the life of law enforcement officers, attempted murder, deliberate destruction of property, and the illegal trafficking of arms and explosives.
According to investigators, on May 22, “members of Ukrainian armed formations” carried out an attack on the Belgorod region’s Grayvoron district, resulting in the injuries of several civilian residents and causing shell damage to multiple homes and other civilian infrastructure.
