At least three civilians dead after Russian drone strikes on multiple Ukrainian regions

Russia used Iranian-made Shahed drones to launch airstrikes on multiple Ukrainian territories early Wednesday morning, Ukraine’s General Staff has reported.

According to preliminary data from the Ukrainian authorities, the attacks involved a total of 21 drones, 16 of which were downed by air defense systems. The Ukrainian Air Force reported that the drones were launched from Russia’s Bryansk region.

Air defenses were activated in the Kyiv, Zhytomyr, and Khmelnytskyi regions. According to Kyiv authorities, eight drones were identified and downed around the city.

In the Kyiv region, at least three people were killed, more than 20 were injured, and five are missing as a result of the attacks, according to local authorities.

In the town of Rzhyshchiv, two residential buildings and a lyceum were partially destroyed, according to Ukraine’s State Emergency Service.
