Investigators in Rostov-on-Don have filed charges against Ukrainian soldier Anton Cherednik for allegedly using prohibited methods of warfare and forcibly seizing power, Russian state news agency TASS reported on Wednesday.

The prosecution alleges that Cherednik killed a civilian in Mariupol in March 2022 and underwent training for the purposes of carrying out terrorist acts.

According to the court’s press service, this is the first time a Ukrainian soldier has been tried in Russia for using prohibited methods of warfare.
