Bryansk Governor Alexander Bogomaz reported Friday that Russian air defenses had “repelled another attack by the Ukrainian Armed Forces” by shooting down a drone in the region. There were no casualties, the governor said.
According to the Telegram-based news outlet Mash, the drone was part of the Ukrainian military’s second attempt in two days to attack the Bryansk International Airport. Mash reported that at about 9:30 a.m. local time on Friday, a group of drones carrying explosives set off towards the airport at low altitude. The airport has been closed since the start of Russia’s full-scale war in Ukraine.
Earlier, on Thursday, Alexander Bogomaz reported that Russian forces had downed ten drones in the region, including one in the Bryansk district, where the airport is located.
