Police officer fatally stabbed in Grozny, Kadyrov says

Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov reported Monday that a traffic safety officer had been attacked with a knife in central Grozny.

“The inspector stepped away to perform ablution in a prayer room, where an evil spirit surreptitiously inflicted fatal wounds on him. The criminal was shot while trying to escape from the scene with a service weapon,” Kadyrov wrote on his Telegram channel.

The alleged attacker’s identity has not been released. Russian media outlets published video and photo from the crime scene.
