In the city of Vuhlehirsk, in the Russian-annexed “DNR,” an attempt was made on the life of Alexander Nikulin, judge on the region’s Supreme Court, reports the regional Ministry of Internal Affairs.

Nikulin presided over the court which sentenced two UK citizens, Aiden Aslin and Shaun Pinner, as well as the Moroccan Brahim Saadoune, to death for fighting for Ukraine. Russia handed them over to Saudi Arabia in September.

Attempts on the lives of officials in Russian-occupied Ukrainian territory have been regular occurrences since the beginning of the war. The highest-ranking official to be killed was the Prosecutor General of the “LNR,” Sergey Gorenko. He and his deputy were killed in an explosion in the prosecutor’s office in Luhansk.
