Several areas within Kharkiv are without power after missile strikes on the evening of October 13, the local power company reported. The company noted that it’s working to restore service.
Ihor Terekhov, the mayor of Kharkiv, also reported problems with the electricity supply in some areas. He said that the city experienced at least two missile strikes.
Oleh Synyehubov, governor of the Kharkiv region, also reports Russian troops shooting in the region. He discussed a missile strike on the Kholodnohirsky area of the city of Kharkiv. “Critical infrastructure in the region has been damaged, temporary electric outages are possible,” he said.
On October 10 and 11 Ukraine was subjected to massive strikes from Russia. Ukraine’s minister of energy said that shelling damaged around 30 percent of the country’s energy infrastructure.
During times of war it is impossible to immediately verify information disseminated by either side of the conflict.

On October 13 several incidents occurred in Russia’s Belgorod region, which borders Kharkiv in Ukraine. Part of the roof of a 16-story apartment building collapsed in the city of Belgorod, and an explosion occurred at an ammunition depot in a nearby village. Russia has blamed Ukraine for both incidents.
