Belarusian opposition leader and former presidential candidate Svetlana Tikhanovskaya (Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya) has been added to the Russian Interior Ministry’s wanted list, RIA Novosti reports.
A TASS source in law enforcement explained that Tikhanovskaya was added to a wanted list in her home country of Belarus, but will also be considered wanted in Russia, since she has appeared on an inter-state wanted list.
In Belarus, Tikhanovskaya stands accused of inciting actions that threaten national security.
Svetlana Tikhanovskaya is currently located in Europe. She was forced to leave Belarus just a few days after the presidential elections on August 9, due to pressure and threats from the authorities.
