Belarusian opposition leader Svetlana Tikhanovskaya has announced the creation of a Coordination Council for ensuring the transfer of power in Belarus, reports Free Belarus News.
“Taking into account what is happening in the country and the need to take urgent measures to restore rule of law in Belarus, I, Svetlana Tikhanovskaya, am initiating the creation of a Coordination Council to ensure the transfer of power. This council may include civil society representatives, respected and well-known Belarusians, and professionals in their [respective] fields. I instilled my trustee Olga Kovalkova and lawyer Maxim Znak to accept applications for the nomination of council members from citizens’ organizations and associations,” Tikhanvoskaya said.
