Police officers have arrested two members of the protest and performance group Pussy Riot, Pyotr Verzilov and Veronika Nikulshina. The pair was attending a Moscow concert by the rock band Scorpions at the time of their arrest, Verzilov wrote on Twitter.
“Center E employees and the 2nd operational [police] division swarmed the halls of the VTB Arena to arrest Nika and me right before a Scorpions concert that the band’s own frontman invited us to. Hell as it really is!” the activist and journalist said.
The cause of the arrest is not yet known. Verzilov told Mediazona that police officers refused to identify themselves to himself and Nikulshina, and they also refused to explain their actions.
