Moscow investigators summon opposition candidate for repeated interrogations in new criminal case

Opposition politician Dmitry Gudkov, who hopes to run in the Moscow City Duma elections this September, was interrogated by state investigators in connection with a criminal case against the obstruction of the city’s election commission.

The authorities have summoned Gudkov for two other interrogations, one later in the day on July 25 and another the next day. On Wednesday evening, the authorities raided the home of Gudkov and several other opposition candidates whom officials refused to register for September’s elections. Gudkov is being treated as a witness in the criminal investigation.
