A city councilwoman from Moscow’s Khamovniki district was attacked on Thursday evening, according to the liberal political party Yabloko.
Alexandra Parushina was reportedly beat up when she confronted staff from the Teplo Tsentr Stroi construction company for illegally installing new underground power lines. It’s unclear if it was the workers themselves who attacked her. Parushina was hospitalized briefly with a mild concussion and later discharged.

Elected to Moscow’s city council in 2012 as a member of Just Russia, a pseudo opposition party, Parushina is now running for re-election this September as a member of Yabloko.
