Moscow police detained an artist-activist outside the Kremlin Walls on Thursday, and quickly transferred her to a psychiatric clinic. Katrin Nenasheva was reportedly detained for refusing to remove a virtual-reality headset.
Nenasheva wrote on Facebook that officers told her, “It’s strictly forbidden to be in virtual reality in a public place. Here it’s the real world.” Nenasheva was detained while performing part of an art project where she walks through Moscow wearing VR glasses, viewing photographs of Russian psychoneurological clinics.
