Footage emerges showing Rosgvardiya employee shoot colleague in head
Television channel 360 has published surveillance footage showing an employee of Russia’s National Guard, the Rosgvardiya, being killed by his colleague in the agency’s department of private security in Moscow. In the video, the killer is shown lifting a gun to the victim’s head and shooting.
At the time of the crime, four other Rosgvardiya employees were present in the room. They stood with their backs to the killer and his victim and, according to the footage, did not try to detain the offender.
The victim has been identified as twenty-seven-year-old Nikita Pavlyutin. The murder suspect is twenty-six-year-old sergeant Sergei Ruchkin.
Initially, it was reported that the murder had been unintentional and that the Rosgvardiya officer had accidentally fired from a Makarov pistol.
Russia’s Investigative Committee opened a criminal case against Ruchkin and is looking to determine whether he was under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
