Crimea Prosecutor Natalia Poklonskaya, who was recently elected to the seventh convocation of Russia's State Duma, the country's lower house of parliament, is to head a commission responsible for Duma members' incomes, reported newspaper RBK on Monday.
Secretary of the General Council of pro-Kremlin political party Sergei Neverov called Poklonskaya "a professional with an impeccable reputation."
According to RBK, the number of Duma committees in the seventh convocation will be reduced from a previous 30. Several committees, such as the Committee on Constitutional Legislation and the Committee on Civil and Criminal Law will be combined into one. This new committee, in particular, will be headed by Pavel Krasheninnikov.
The Duma's Committee on Safety and the Fight against Corruption will be headed by former deputy head of the Investigative Committee Basil Piskarev.
On September 24, 2016, the Supreme and General Councils of United Russia held a joint meeting. They decided to nominate former deputy head of the presidential administration Vyacheslav Volodin as the Duma's Speaker. Alexander Zhukov, Irina Yarovaya, Peter Tolstoy, Vladimir Vasiliev, and Sergei Neverov will be Vice Speakers.
