Kadyrov received 97 percent of the vote in Sunday's election

The acting head of the Chechen Republic Ramzan Kadyrov received more than 97.05 percent of the vote during Sunday's election in Russia, reported news agency TASS citing data from Russia'a Central Election Committee, which, at that point have process 15 percent of the total ballots.

For the post of President of Chechnya, Kadyrov was challenged by Idris Usmanov (from Party of growth, scored 1.47 percent), Communist Gairsolt Bataev (0.87 percent), and A Fair Russia candidate Sultan Denilkhanov (the result - 0.54 percent).

Sunday's election determined the heads of seven of Russia's regions as well as the composition of the Duma, Russia's lower house of parliament.

The parliamentary elections were won by pro-Kremlin political party United Russia, which received more than 54 percent of the vote.
