A monument to Vladimir Lenin was discovered earlier today in Moscow, knocked over and beheaded. According to the news agency TASS, it's unclear if the head was removed before the statue was pushed over, or during the fall.

Public utilities workers say the monument was knocked over by strong winds, though weather reports say the wind speeds in Moscow on June 7 didn't surpass a light breeze of 14.4 kilometers per hour (less than 9 miles per hour).

According to reports by Life.ru and Lenta.ru, officials founded nailed to a nearby tree a sheet of paper containing a puzzle that, when decoded, displayed the word “Hangman.”
